Vancouver, BC

Danna and I took a train trip to Vancouver to check out the sites. Trains are a lot of fun, and so is Vancouver!

Sonoma Wine Making

Sonoma Wine Making

The Crossroads Inn, where we are staying, is thankfully not in Oakland. Nancy, our innkeeper, is one of those nice old "Napa" ladies, meaning that she's outgoing if a little quirky.

Back From Sonoma

Sonoma was a success if you measure success by the number of bottles of wine purchased and consumed. By the end of the trip I found myself unable to speak at the dinner table. Everyone decided it would be best that whenever I wanted to get someone's attention I should raise my glass in a toast and shout "Bonzai!" This works remarkably well, by the way.

Washington Wine Festival

I should have known when I got the mail from Eric that this was no ordinary wine binging opportunity.  Eric has a way of picking out only the most distinguished of events.  Thanks to his deep connections, we soon had tickets for the event of the century:  the Washington Wine Expo at the Seahawks Exibition Center.  This is an annual event that showcases Washington wines paired with food from many local resturaunts.  The event lasts from 6:00 - 10:00, but if you pay for the special VIP tickets, you can get in two hours early.  Naturally, we sprung for the extra tickets.  And a cab ride home.

Whistler, BC

Danna and I went with some good friends up to Whistler in January. While everyone worked feverishly to plummet down the mount, Danna and I took a more leisurely and sweaty pace; we went snow shoeing.

Wine Country Bound

Six months ago we picked grapes, smashed them, and put them in big garbage cans. Now, after they've been sitting in a shed for several months, we're going back to put them in bottles and drink them. We have no idea what we'll end up with, so we've labeled the bottles "Mostly Merlot" and "Sorta Semillon". Wish us luck!

UrbanPotato 2.0 is Online!

Ok, it's been a couple of months of work, and some of the photos are still out of order in the articles, but hey, what do you want for 5:30 in the morning? I'm not touching this thing for a freakin' week. Uploading content took forever, as my hacky conversion script had tons of bugs. Oh, well, it's dead and buried now.

Will We Never Get It?

For Christmas we bought Danna's parents a nice shiny new Dell computer. Shortly after I turned on the switch, I was sorely let down.
