Danna and I went with some good friends up to Whistler in January. While everyone worked feverishly to plummet down the mount, Danna and I took a more leisurely and sweaty pace; we went snow shoeing.
Snow shoeing is actually a lot fun. It's kind of like driving a big tank. You can go anywhere, but not very fast. It's also not a terribly quiet experience. The crunch, crunch crunching of the snow as you bumble along will scare off most any wildlife.
Still, we learned a lot about the local wildlife. We saw a nitch in the forest where bears teach their cubs to climb trees, and gazed at the scenery. It really was a fantastic day.
That evening, we drank copious amounts of beer. Really, we didn't actually reserve that for the evening.
