A year or so ago we bought an African safari at an auction. Then we decided that a week was too short a time to take considering the flight time to get to southern Africa, so we enlisted the help of “Mama Africa” at Mills Tourism Consulting and added a couple more safaris to the list.

I like cats, really I do. They’re quiet, warm and soft, and they generally take care of themselves. Then they get old and weird, and gross things happen.

Cole enjoys "Race Day" with his race car themed birthday. Here are a few shots of him eating far too much sugar.

I haven’t had a good rant in a long time. Trust me, I’ve had plenty to bitch about but I’m old and tired, and Cole keeps me occupied enough that I just don’t feel like spending the time. But, after moderating another round of spam comments I thought I’d pipe up.

Grady is moving to Manhattan soon so Squirrel of Shame played one last gig at Kells with Grady as drummer. Attendance was pretty good considering it was the day before new year's eve, and the drinks were flowing as always.

Cole woke us up bright and early (read: it was still dark) on Christmas morning so he could see if Santa came. I think there was some doubt he'd make the good list. He must have made it, because there were plenty of treats under the tree for him.

Ever since Microsoft became too big for a decent holiday party, a group of us have always done dinner and drinks in Seattle. This time was a little more reserved -- it's hard to do serious bar hopping during the holidays. Still, we managed to rent a limo and have a great dinner at Tulio's. Mike got some really great pictures given the light. Check it out on Flickr.
